I think there are some great applications for social media to enhance the conference experience; HOWEVER, like anything, it can be overdone and abused. Here is an interesting post about how a session panel got so wrapped up in sharing the session with their followers on Twitter, etc., that they seemed to forget about the learners at the session they were leading!
